2019 Sun Valley Summer Spanish Institute Information and Registration Will Open April 19, 2019

Overview: The Sun Valley Summer Spanish Institute provides a unique opportunity for adult students to develop their Spanish language skills and to broaden their knowledge of Spanish-speaking cultures. The intensive week-long format and diverse activities are designed to challenge motivated learners in a fun and friendly atmosphere. The morning academic classes range from a true beginning level to an advanced level. The afternoon workshops range from grammar to art to yoga to dancing and more.

Location: College of Southern Idaho Blaine County Center (Hailey, Idaho)
Tuition: $465

Morning Group Classes: The goal of each group class is to help student's master key concepts and advance their overall language fluency over the span of the week. Each class will involve a variety of speaking, listening, reading, and writing activities. The small class sizes and immersion format are designed to facilitate active participation and a fun, productive learning environment for each student. Group classes take place Monday-Friday from 9 am-12 pm and 1:15 pm-2:30 pm are broken into language levels.

Afternoon Workshops: The afternoon workshops provide continued language practice while exploring aspects of various Spanish-speaking cultures and language learning strategies. Afternoon workshops take place Monday-Thursday from 2:45 pm-4:00 pm (except for Friday when the Institute ends at 2:30).

Teacher Seeking Professional Development Credit
If you are a teacher seeking professional development credit, you must meet the 32 contact hours required to earn 2 credits. To do this, you must attend all morning group classes, afternoon workshops and complete some assignments on your own time in the evening. Undergraduate credit is available from CSI for an additional cost and graduate credit will be available from Idaho State University at an additional cost. Please note that you must register for credit on the first day of the Spanish Institute and this must be done in person.
