




The Sun Valley Summer Spanish Institute provides a unique opportunity for adult students to develop their Spanish language skills and to broaden their knowledge of Spanish-speaking cultures. The morning academic classes range from a beginning level to an advanced level. The afternoon cultural workshops range from art history to music to cooking and more. The intensive week-long format and diverse activities are designed to challenge motivated learners in a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Daily Schedule, Monday-Friday:
9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. - Academic language classes (divided into 4 levels)
1:15-4:30 p.m. - Cultural workshops, activities, and grammar clinics

$350
Several $250 scholarships are available through the CSI Blaine County Center. Individuals must submit a letter of application by March 15, 2013.
Scholarship application letters should describe the individual’s interest in learning the Spanish language, how the individual plans to use Spanish skills, and why a scholarship will help. Letters should be submitted electronically by 5 p.m. on March 15 to Jenny Emery Davidson: jdavidson@csi.edu.

College Credit:
Two lower division college credits (course code SPAN 199A B01E) are available through the College of Southern Idaho for an additional $50 fee. Two upper division college credits (course code EDUC 5598P) are available through Idaho State University for an additional $100 fee. Students must register and pay for the college credit on-site on the first morning of the Spanish Institute (June 17). Students will be graded on a pass/fail basis. To receive a passing grade, the student must participate fully in all sessions of the Spanish Institute and must keep a portfolio of her/his work throughout the week.
