The Sun Valley Summer Spanish Institute provides a unique opportunity for adult students to develop their Spanish language skills and to broaden their knowledge of Spanish-speaking cultures. The morning academic classes range from a beginning level to a high intermediate level. The afternoon cultural workshops range from art history to music to cooking and more. The intensive week-long format and diverse activities are designed to challenge motivated learners and provide a lot of fun.

Daily Schedule, Monday-Friday:
9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. – Academic language classes (divided into 4 levels).
1:30-4:15 p.m. – Cultural workshops, activities, and grammar clinics.
Special Events:
Intercambio Almuerzo – Enjoy a catered lunch and friendly conversational practice with native Spanish speakers.
Film Screening – Watch a Spanish language film (with English subtitles) while enjoying palomitas (popcorn). Afterwards, participate in a group discussion moderated by one of the instructors.
¡Fandango! Outdoor Community Concert. Celebrate your week of Spanish study by dancing in the streets to a great Latin artist! You’ll be ready to sing along with the Spanish lyrics. The concert is held on the corner of Second and Pine at the historic Ezra Pound house in Hailey, and it is co-sponsored by the Sun Valley Center for the Arts.Tuition:

Three $200 scholarships are available through the CSI Blaine County Center. Individuals must submit a letter of application by April 30.
College Credit:
Two lower division college credits are available through the College of Southern Idaho for an additional $52 fee. To receive credits, students must attend all classes and submit a portfolio of work at the end of the week.
Registration:
Registration opens April 5. Students register through the CSI Blaine County Center. Register early! Registration is limited for each class level.
